At Blossom Children’s Center, our mission is to provide families the highest quality behavioral therapy in a collaborative environment. We strive to provide services supporting the optimal development of children with autism and other challenges through individualized, quality training, and comprehensive support for families and the community.
Who We Are
Blossom Children’s Center offers families throughout Detroit, Michigan all-encompassing, intensive programs, proven-effective therapies, and individualized services. Specializing in the early intervention of young children through age eight with autism spectrum disorder and other special needs, our highly trained therapists commit to providing support, education, and the training your child and family need. As a multidisciplinary team, we dedicate ourselves to working closely with you to develop goals and meet your child’s needs. Through the utilization of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), we take a comprehensive approach to strengthening your child’s skills and behaviors through developmental and behavioral techniques. We focus on the use of real-world experiences, to give your child the skills they need to thrive.
The Blossom Method
Our team of therapists utilizes a combination of evidence-based approaches to maximize your child’s progress and potential. Our center serves the Detroit, Michigan area through the use of:
- Pivotal Response Training (PRT): An approach targeting your child’s “pivotal” developmental areas. Through PRT, your child will work on critical areas, including:
- Social interactions
- Self-management
- Motivation
Through PRT, communication, behavior, social interaction, and academic skills are prime targets for enhancement.
- Early Start Denver Model (ESDM): A behavioral therapy utilizing methods of natural routines, play, and individualized activities. ESDM focusses on building meaningful relationships, strengthening cognitive skills, and optimizing communication skills.
- Direction Instruction (DI): A teacher-directed approach utilizing curriculum and teaching methods. DI focusses on areas including:
- Attention
- Social engagement
- Language
- Development of academic skills
